About the Author
Dr. Priscilla C. Gimas

Dr. Priscilla C. Gimas is a seasoned educator with extensive teaching and administrative experience. She has many achievements and has enjoyed many successes with her students. One of Priscilla’s proudest achievements was her doctorate in educational leadership. Her dissertation examined how, and if, graduate programs prepared administrators to make decisions ethically.   Dr. Gimas has also presented papers discussing the relationship between knowledge of self and ethical values.

Man has Free Will.  However, it’s how we use that free will that define us based on the choices we freely make. Ethical behavior is comparable to a balance beam – individuals try to walk a straight line however, on their periphery are choices pulling them in different directions. The balance is not only walking the ethical path but knowing how to discern your peripheral temptations. It is Dr. Gimas’s belief that a knowledge of self is an awareness of each individual’s ethical strengths and weaknesses and this understanding enables each individual to balance their choices and behavior.

Book Reviews
I sort of expected this autobiography to be a little emotional until I began to read Dr. Gimas' story. First I smiled as she recounted her childhood years with family and friends. Until that point I smiled and laughed with some of her stories. Then, about half way through the book, my emotions became a roller-coaster as she recounted the painful years of her life. The weird part about this story was and still is, the fact that I felt everything she was recounting. I was sad, angry and hurt, and I felt as if it was my story.
Hands down, the most emotional book I have read in years.
